INDIGO QUILT SHOW

Just a quick post to let everyone know of a quilt show being held in N E Victoria over the next week. If you are travelling along the Hume Highway, it is literally one minute from the Barnawartha Exit (just 20km south of Albury/Wodonga).  Shelley has worked really hard to gather some of the finest quilts from the region and I think would be well worth a visit if you are in the area.

It's Been A While...

It's been so long since a did a proper post, I will try and keep everything in order and fill you all in on whats been happening in my world.

First of all, it was Buddy's birthday in June and I just had to get the annual birthday pic (he is getting very good at posing for the camera).

I managed to get all the applique pieces cut out and stuck down on my 1930's quilt.  I have started appliqueing but still have a fair bit to do on this one.

I received a very special invitation from my eldest son Chris, to go and watch him and his business partner dig a hole - how could I resist!  I came laden with freshly baked muffins and stood in awe of the hole they had dug with their new excavator..........
Also on the subject of Chris - and his beautiful wife Amy, we were given the best news ever!  We are going to be grandparents!!!!!!  Howard and I are very excited and can't wait.  Our grandbaby is due on the 1st January!!!

Moving into July saw me attend my first ever Motorcross event.  This is my gorgeous young nephew having a break from racing, he is such a cutie but I have to say the sight that most struck a chord with me was seeing the tiny little ones (4 - 5 years old) walking around with these massively big helmets on their heads.  OMG it was cute!

I have added another round to Hertfordshire and am now working on the next one of half inch hexagon flowers.
I think these will keep me busy for a little while.

I had a trip  to Melbourne to the annual quilt show and was very happy to see that Shelley had won an award for each of her quilts.  The first one (above) won the Presidents Award.  This quilt is a real stunner and unfortunately my photo does not do it justice.

And this is Shelley's miniature quilt.  This won first prize in its category.  I remember watching her piece those tiny hexagons at sewing one day, I don't know how she does it!

Here is a photo of Linda from Quilts in the Barn (with Shelley) in front of her award winning quilt.  You just can't beat a good red and white quilt can you.

I also have to show you this one.  I love it!

I didn't purchase a lot but did come home with one of  Megan's new patterns and a book from Quiltmania.

Our son returned home at the end of July safe and sound after six months away and we are very very happy and proud to have him back on Aussie soil.

Now we are up to August and with August comes a trip to Castlemaine for  the Castlemaine Applique Group bi-monthly gathering and a visit to to Threadbear, of course.  The Secret Sisters blew us away again with their Show & Tell and I wish I had more pics to show but I was having camera issues.

 Deb's quilt (forgot the name)

 Megan's quilt (forgot the name)

Merri's quilt - know this one, Civil War Bride.

Jan's quilt, Christmas at Franklin Farm

 Dorothy's Vine quilt - Stunning!

 Sue's hexagon quilt.

This quilt is made out of all dutch chintz fabric and has been donated anonymously as the raffle quilt for this year's Quilts in the Barn.  This year's theme is "All About Chintz".  I really want to win this!!!!!!!

I got this gorgeous little tin from Threadbear and it will be perfect to house my half inch hexagon flowers.

Hopefully I wont leave it too long between posts and looking forward to catching up with what everyone else has been up to.
