Here are my Klosjes for the week - 6 again. This makes a total of 45! I have been focusing on my hexagons this week for Swan Lake so I really haven't got anything new on the patchwork front to show you. I have however, had a huge day today, in my role as a mother of a 23 year old boy who seems to be addicted to the rush of adrenalin. Nic has been working on his Black Beast since Christmas, getting it ready for his big day today. You see, he has discovered drifting. Drifting is racing around a track, fishtailing and going sideways around the corners (I'm sure that's not the official description but this is how it appears to me). When I arrived at the race track, all I could hear were the screeching of tyres, see huge plumes of dark smoke with the smell of burning rubber. This photo shows some of Pit Lane. I was amazed at how many cars had turned out for the day. This is certainly a popular sport with the younger population. Here I am with Nic and his car after his first session around the track. The bonnet was up so the engine could cool down a bit. He was very pleased with himself and I was very pleased he and his car were still in one piece. I must say, in the beginning I was very sceptical and thought it was just for "Hoons" but now I am very impressed with it all. It is very exciting to watch and even though they appear to be out of control, they really are in control of their cars. I think it is a great way for them to push the limits but within a safe and supervised environment.
I have just spent about two hours drafting this post because I wanted to put a video on of Nic driving today. Needless to say, I have had a lot of trouble and I still don't know if it will work once I publish this post. Anyway, here goes... Sue-Anne xxx

What a proud Mama! What a lovely picture of you two.
Hubby and I really enjoyed the video, wow! I would have died if in the video it would have shown you nervously making Klosjes by the track! LOL
I love your Klosjes this week. And love I can put a face to my dear Sue-Anne!
:)
Aren't sons somthing? Holy Cow, Sue-Anne, I wondered if you took one of the fishtailing rides with Nic? Your hexies, and klosjes are gorgeous(as always) and it is so fun to now be able to see you, and Valentina. By the way, does that good looking young man have a special girl? Michele
Wow!! I would be worried and excited at the same time
Sue-Anne,
I echo all that has been said before me. Sometimes as a parent you just have to let your kids do things that make your heart race and with a huge leap of faith. Well done for being so brave. Now I can really picture you at your sewing. Keep up the good work, klosjes and hexies looking good. That is some work you have been doing this week.

Love your fabric choices for your Klosjes..very pretty!
You and Nic look very funky in that photo. Good on you mum! Love all those new Klosjes soft colour and the hexies too - Enjoy your Sunday - Hugs Nat
Oh Sue-Anne, I have a son like that...he's loves old Holdens, had 7 at one stage, now down to one old 1961 Holden ute.."His baby"
Had a dragster /Torana that ran on aviation fuel..scared the life out of me!

Your Klosjes are gorgeous as are the hexies..
Julia ♥
Sue-Anne,
Love your klosjes and hexies, but I'm really loving Phebe! I love that you left the guy headless for now. lol I did an Angel of Springtime a long time ago and I did her head last thing of all. I was so sick of it by the time I was nearly done that I threatened my stitching friends that I was going to put her head in her basket instead of on her neck. 8) I didn't though. lol
oh boys! it is great fun really. remember me telling you of my son's car? same car as nicks, just a later model. he now has a new car and guess who now owns the S15? his dad and me. are we nuts? yep, but couldn't let a beautiful car like that leave the family. our son got himself in a lot of trouble with the boys in blue, while in that car, hence him getting a more conservative car, still a sports car mind you! it's going to be interesting driving for me, as the S15 has been tagged by the police. wonder what they'll think when they see an old bag like me in it? mwahh ha ha. :)
Klosjes ,hexies and video all a hit. I have decided not to share the video with my 3 1/2 yr old gramdson. My daughter would disown me for putting ideas in his head.
Wonderful post of a supportive Mum. Goodonya.
Wow - you have been busy Sue Anne...My heart would be in my mouth if that was my son ...but he obviously knows what he is doing...so well done with the video - it worked well! Loved the photo of you both. Been busy with your sewing too - love the colours..you are moving along well with those blocks ♥
just showed Col the post and video His smile was as big as Nic's would have been. JM x
Scary car stuff!!!! Lovely photo of you and Nic and very pretty klosjes and hexagons.
Lovely klosjes but your hexagonnes are also very nice.
Fantastic klosjes you made! I just love the fabrics you use. And about your son: great isn't it? I don't have much feeling for machines, but my brother used to do tractorpulling. One time I came along and I just loved it. So I can imagine it was thrilling to see your son do this (although also scaring!) And the video worked! :-) Enjoy the weekend!
I'm forwarding this blog post to my sons! When both my guys get together they start car talk and I hear the word drifting alot. Bet your son likes all those movies too! I must admit it must be bunches of fun but as a mom we worry...heck I worry when they just drive away from the house to go to a show or something!
You were successful adding the video to your post. I think you have a race car driver there!
Your klosjes and hexjes are fantastic, I love the fabrics you use.
Have a nice quilting week Hennie.
Love the color of your klosjes and hexagons. I did some hexagons yesterday becaus I was in France and took some work with me to do . Saw your video! I have a son of 23 but it is my daughter of 20 who is more interested in cars! I myself think it is still scary so I would rather watch than be in the car!
