Shopping, Calendar Girls, Klosjes & Hexagons

I had the best day yesterday.  I spent the day in Melbourne with friends and we went to the stage show, Calendar Girls.  I have not laughed that much for a very long time, by the time the show was finished my whole face was aching.

Of course, being in the centre of Melbourne at Stocktake Sale time means only one thing - SHOPPING FOR BARGAINS.  We all saved money on our purchases and had lots of fun looking at clothing and handbags that were waaaay out of our price range.

I got this gorgeous lace scarf and a pair of Mink Denim Jeans, as well as some Mac cosmetics (my favourite).

I have made 5 Klosjes this week bringing a total of 84.

I have also been working on hexagons and have managed another 6 for the week.

This one is my favourite for the week with the black pinstripe fabric a gift from Sarah.  It is a Yuwa treasure.

I have also been playing with clamshells but more on that later this week when I do my first monthly report for the Clamshell Club.

I have had a busy weekend, with Melbourne on Saturday and Nicholas, the prodigal son deciding to move back home today.  You can just imagine the mess I have in the house from stuff brought in and not put away yet?????  The cats are very unhappy because they are no longer allowed to sleep on the bed in his room now that he is back.  Buddy is very happy though because now he has his Bro back to play with.

I told myself that I don't need anything and stayed in this weekend. The scarf is gorgeous, can't wait to see you wearing it - Enjoy Nicholas home! Hugs Nat

What a great week end. I have enjoyed the movie. Glad to hear the show was so entertaining. My daughter moved out earlier this year but we don't want to do anything permanent with her room as she is bound to return. But now, my husband has a music/reading room which has been repainted and sparsely furnished. You have a lovely variety of projects to keep you busy.

It sounds like you had a fantastic time in Melbourne! I love the scarf, and MAC is my favorite, too. Your klosjes and hexies are beautiful, and love love love the clamshells! I can't wait to read your clamshell report.

I hear you on the mess created when one of the kids comes home. My daughter came back from college last month and I think we've finally got everything put away. It sure does turn a house topsy turvy!

Wow! I'm off sick for a few weeks and you're up to 84 klosjes, lots more hexagons and some really cool clamshells. (I love that black pinstripe fabric too - yummy!) But what happened to Phoebe? As long as I've been away I'm surprised she's not done already. ;) I know, I know, priorities change. Right now, my priority is healing. 8)

Take care,

It sounds like the play was fun and what I wouldn't do to hit some of those sales. Not that I need anything, mind you, but you never know. Love your klosjes, hexies and clamshells. I think once I get some fabric cut up, I'm going to try out those clamshells. I think you've created a monster.

Sue-Anne sounds like you have had a much better week and looks like it too.

Children come and go a bit like rain. Some good some not so good. I usually have to rearrange MY stuff. Not so spread out.

Does this mean more CARS?

Happy Stitching Terry

Beautiful klosjes! Ik love the fabrics you use for them. And I love your stories on the calander girls, and your clam shells. Why did your son move back home? He left only a couple of months ago, didn't he? Too bad for the cats...;-) I bet they feel insulted...
