Seeing as how I have turned these blocks into ....
this quilt top and ....
finished appliqueing all four dogtooth borders for this quilt top - I will be busy this weekend cutting out and sticking down flowers, ready for lots of needleturn applique.
I might also make some of these Chocolate fondants with .....
my brand new "Candy Apple Red" KitchenAid Mother's Day present!!!
Or I might go driving in my beautiful car now that it is back from the repair shop, all nice and looking like brand new again.
After a wonderful day in Melbourne looking at antique quilts and eating up a storm, a BIG kangaroo decided to jump out in front of us as I was driving along the highway at 110kph. I have been without my car for two weeks and it has nearly driven me insane!

And I will definately be giving this little fella lots of cuddles and maybe a nice long walk or two.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe Queens Birthday weekend.

No long weekend here but I'll be stitching anyway! Working on Phebe and a selvage quilt.
Your chocolate cakes look delicious! I'm sure you'll enjoy baking more goodies since you have a new mixer. Love the red color!
Sewing, a bit of bush walking, some cooking, and some more sewing I hope. Your projects look lovely. And the new mixer is gorgeous.
Love your projects! And what is not to love about your little furry friend!?
First you show us beautiful quilts, love them. Then your beautiful candy apple red mixer, love that! Then your cutie Buddy. Great and fun post. So sorry about your car and having to go without it so long!
Take care!
I knew you would be cooking up something delicious with that new toy of yours. I can see you have been working hard on that stitching too. Enjoy your long weekend.Buddy is looking as cute as ever. Xx
Roos are totally inconsiderate.
The quilts look lovely and it sounds like you will be busy and happy I think cutting out some pretty flowers.
Assembling boarders and waiting for the shower resealing man.
Lovely quilts Sue-Anne...and yummy to all that chocolate goodness! Sounds like a nice weekend coming up or you...Enjoy!!!
So glad to hear you and the car are in one piece. Have a good weekend.
love your new quilt top it looks gorgeous, your applique block is fantastic too. Enjoy the extra day tomorrow.
Hope you enjoyed your long weekend.
I get the impression that you are a very good cook, with special attention to the sweets and deserts.
Heavens! You hit kangaroos in Australia? Is that common? Here we have to watch out for deer all the time. In fact, if deer hunting wasn't common in the fall, the population would get out of control and crashes would be much more likely. At least your car looks lovely as does you little Buddy and all that fabulous food.
Candy apple red was obviously the way to go on the mixer; I chose matte grey 10 years ago and the best thing I can say is that it doesn't show any fingerprints. 8)
Take care,

PS I saw a picture on the internet a week or so ago of a deer and another of a kangaroo. It said that a kangaroo was just a deer tyrannosaurus rex. That really made me laugh.
Nice thoese dogtooth borders and I love the applique blocks. And your kitchen aid is really nice. 2 weeks without a car is a long time! Glad you have it back. Sounds like a lot of opportunities for a nice weekend,
