What a Month We've Had!

Last week saw us attending the March Out of our son Nicholas, with the Australian Army.  He has completed his basic training and is now in the process of learning his new trade of Australian Soldier.  We were so excited to see him and our time with him went far too quickly.

Here he is with his brother.  Of course we are very proud of both our boys and I can see a proudness in Nic by the way he carries himself now.  Amazing how they can grow up so completely in such a short time.

His quilt was completed a couple of weeks before and I couldn't wait to give it to him.  It is now with him to keep him warm and remind him of home.

Chris and Amy arrived home from their honeymoon a couple of weeks before the March Out and here they are at the airport with Lucy (their baby).  Amy's sister Kate made a sign and brought her to the airport.  I don't think I have ever seen Amy so excited as when she realised Lucy was there.  5 weeks is a long time away from the people/dogs we love.

Remember this quilt?  I finally got around to having it quilted and got it back yesterday.  Rose did a wonderful job with the quilting and now I have to make another binding.

I have also been doing a little machine piecing and this is the start of another quilt, Washington Sidewalks.  This was a pattern from Patchwork on Stonleigh's fabric club.

These are the latest Irish Circles blocks.

You have been quiet but busy. Glad to hear you are well.
That is the perfect quilt for your son to take with him. Beautiful work as always.

What a lovely post Sue-Anne. You have such handsome sons. Nic looks so wonderful in his uniform and his quilt will certainly be his most prized posession. Hope Chris and Amy had a great time away. Glad to see you have kept yourself busy.

I just love your Irish circle blocks and noticed that one in the header too! With a my last name Flynn...I should make one don't you think? Where is the pattern?

This past weekend I had both my boys home together...it is rare these days and I enjoyed every bit of it as I bet you did. Why do they grow up so darned fast? Have you ever just wanted to go back and have a do over or an again? LOL

It looks like you've been busy working on all sorts of lovely things! The quilt you just got back from the quilter is very interesting to me. Is it from a pattern or your own design? And such handsome sons--Nic's photo looks like a movie soldier! Must be good genes! ;)

You have such handsome sons!! I can only imagine how proud you are of Nic and congratulations on the new daughter-in-law. Your projects are also quite dreamy to see. I've been missing from blogland for quite a bit so am wondering if you more photos of your newly quilted project in earlier posts? I really enjoy seeing your Irish Circle blocks.

YOur son looks very handsome in his uniform. I wish him all the best for a safe and successful career. I married a soldier, he's out now but I went week at the knees whenever he was in dress.
Gorgeous quilts too, love those Irish Circle blocks!

I see you have been very busy. Everything looks beautiful.
Congrats to Nic and you. Having our kids grow up can be so bitter-sweet. We want them to grow up, but always be there with us. It's hard on us all, even Buddy.
