What's Happening Here - Not A Lot

The title says it all. We are in the middle of a heatwave here in north east Victoria and it is really sapping our energy. We are now into our fourth day of above 40c heat with mores to come, too hot to do anything. So in light of that, I have struggled to find photos to blog about but here goes anyway.

I have done a very small amount of work on Floral Beauty. As I have said before, I love working on this quilt.

I am still "going slow" with Phebe, lots of these dogtooth pieces to join together for the next border.
This is a block I purchased from Mary Koval when I went to Quilts in the Barn. I finally framed it and love how it looks on the wall.

My thoughts are with our fellow Australians inTasmania dealing with the terrible bushfires and I hope that wherever you are in this world, the weather is being a bit kinder to you.

Sue-Anne I really feel for you having to live through all that searing heat...it isn't near so bad here in the Dandenongs.

Your work is beautiful and I love all that red I see in your work...my favourite colour. And your little framed block is very sweet.

Roll on autumn hey!

I just love your floral beauty, though the link for it didn't work for me.

Love the floral beauty blocks! It's a bit cooler in Tassie today, lots of smoke around still and we're hoping all the bushfires come under control soon and maybe even a shower to put them out for good! I totally get that you can't do much in sweltering temperatures, the heat sucks the life out of you.

Your Floral Beauty is just that Sue-Anne! Hot here too but we are indoors today...I hope Tassie gets some rain to put the fires out...at least it has cooled down a bit there!

Wish I could send you some of our rain. I think we have had the rest of the worlds share. Try and stay cool. Beautiful stitching as ever Sue-Anne.

Still hitting 40 again today, tho we did have some rain yesterday.
Stay safe and cool.

When the heat is like that, I feel like living in the bath filled with cool water, I hope you get relief soon. Love all the red on your blog. The framed block looks gorgeous and so do your blocks.

Life is so crazy. I've been feeling that the weather is keeping me from doing the sewing I'd like to do BUT it's because it's 9 degrees outside. (That's farenheit with 32 degrees being freezing) It's much too cold to spend shivering time in my sewing room. The light is poor too with our gray skies. I felt warmer just reading your post.

Floral Beauty looks very attractive in her red and white. I think that we might have to learn to live with the heat for a little while longer. Stay safe. How's Buddy, the fierce protector, coping with the heat?

Hello Sue-Anne, this is my new blog address. How is the heat now? We have just come back from holidays and our garden was severely dehydrated, thankfully watering and pruning has helped and in our region, we have cooler nights which is helping. Many years go I did a class with Irene when "Floral Beauty" first was released, it was a wonderful class. Your blocks are very nice, I like the fabrics you are using. Her designs are so beautiful. Your framed block is lovely. All the best, Ann
