Not a lot sewing wise has been going on here this week. I finally got the iphone business sorted out and I am very very happy with the new phone (with the video camera).
I decided to do a little bit more on Phebe. When I picked it up, I was up to sewing on the man's head - now I know why I put it down and had a rest from it for a while!
I thought he was bad enough, then I decided to do the girl - she was worse!
I think I unpicked and resewed her hands and her hair about 3 times and now looking at the photo, she has one foot bigger than the other and she is definately having a bad hair day - well, that will be my touch of whimsy????
I finished off the handles of the urn too. One side was thicker than the other so I had to redo the thick one as well. I think I have done more pulling out than actual sewing this week.
Tomorrow my friends and I are heading down to Melbourne to the Australasian Quilt Convention. I am very excited and looking forward to having a fun day with my friends away from the normal routine of life.
Normally I take my camera, but have very bravely decided to just take the new phone (less weight in the handbag) so I am hoping it will take good photos so show you all when I return.

Wonderful block, so tiny details, congrats !
I recently got an iPhone as well. I love it and I bet you do too.
Your applique is to die for. Absolutely gorgeous work.
Well Sue-Anne, they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I see a beautiful sight. Every quilter I have ever known points out bits that they are not happy with in their work but believe you me it looks mighty fine indeed. Good luck with the phone and the quilt show. Can't wait to see what you come back with.
Shirley.
Phebe is looking fabulous Sue-Anne and both of the figures are amazing (doesn't everyone have one foot bigger that the other?).
Enjoy the show, I'll be there on Saturday, really looking forward to that...

Your 'people' look fine - aren't we always our own worst critic? The whole panel is looking really great.
Hope you have a wonderful time at the show. You'll be snappy pictures of everything in sight with the iphone (glad you got it all sorted out).
Regards, Sue
I think that you are doing a fantastic job!
You should see my hair some days!lol!

Beautiful flowers!! 'people' looking good!
I have been in Melbourne twice, I love the city! Have a great day!

Oh Sue-Anne, your Phebe is beautiful. Your being too hard on yourself. It will be amazing when done - it is amazing now! Oh, I love that urn. Enjoy your day out with friends and quilts!
have fun - Looking forward to your pictures.
your block is lovely and I really like the urn fabric - that is a good one!
Love your work. I have mine stuck down but nothing being appliqued. I was in a car accident a few weeks ago and have had a hairline crack in my collar bone so that has put my work on hold. Never mind i have started appliquing a little yesterday.
Have fun tomorrow.

You're doing a fantastic job Sue-Anne!! Enjoy the AQC.

your Block is Lovely..I think you are being too hard on yourself...small pieces of Applique are always tricky...Hope you enjoy the show.
cheers
How magnificent!!! Trust me n0~one is noticing her feet!!! What a block!!
♥E.
I probably would have left the urn handles different sizes. Yours looks very good. I like the fabrics you chose for the couples clothes. Very well done.
I think you did a marvelous job and the great thing about applique is that nobody knows what the pattern looks like. The gentleman is so good, I can't see anything to worry about and so the lady has big hair, that might have been the style. Good job!!
I think it is just beautiful! Fiddly tiny parts are sure a challenge...but the finished piece is awesome. Good job!
Very nice work.
I like the look of this quilt. So quilt friendly I think is the word I wanted to say - Hugs Nat
Your work on Phebe is absolutely great!! Love the fabrics you use!! Enjoy the AQC!! Happy sewing, Daniëlle
Oh, phebe is looking wonderful. no one but you is going to see that one shoe is bigger, or that she is having a bad hair day. It looks beautiful!
Phebe is great. Don't be tooo hard on yourself these type of quilts are not for the quilter who needs everything perfectly balanced. I love it.
Enjoy the SHOW and friends. Sounds like a day to enjoy.
Sue-Anne,
I just found your blog. Your Phebe is BEAUTIFUL! I didn't notice anything wrong with the man or his girl! :)
Love your phebe and have fun at the ACQ - buy that extra fat quarter, you have my permission, lol!
Hugs - Lurline♥
It's beautiful! Nobodyis going to notice the teeny, tiny things that you do (which I DO NOT, by the way!)... The overall effect is striking! I am so in love with this... EVERYTHING about is perfect. ISn't that why we do handwork? We don't want to go buy a "perfect" computer generated print of something... This is yours and yours alone. UNIQUE and exquisite! Your fabric choices are incredible! I want to see your stash! :)
Ohhhh, what a nice project! I just bought the pattern in Australie.
greetings, Jeannet
Looks great to me...try not to beat yourself up...I think it comes together fine. Love your fabrics
Beautiful!!! I love this quilt!!! The collors are so pretty.... I want this also... :o)
Oké,... your story tells me to waite a little longer with my Phebe,...
;o))))))))
But, I must say yours looks gorgeous!
wou was für ein wunderschöner Block - traumhaft

Phebe looks terrific! I am sooo impressed by your applique. I don't know if you actually NEEDED to unstitch parts of it or not (probably not for my eyes), but it certainly looks wonderful now!
Susan
Beautiful applique block!I think there is nothing wrong with it. I must say I liked the 'story' you wrote, I thought the way you wrote it was funny.
Have a good weekend and enjoy your applique work, I hope to see more of it,

I love everything about it! Even the big hair!! And, I love the way you dressed the little people. I noticed with the Civil War Bride pattern, that things do not match up perfectly, like the feet being two different sizes in your block. But, that is the way the pattern was drafted and I think it makes it interesting.
You have to know you crack me up with the way you make fun of your work. I don't see those things until you point them out - and then I giggle.
I love this block! The changes in scale (giant vase, little people) adds a touch of humor. Your fabric choices are just wonderful! Love the skirt and vase and his suit. Wonderful work! Keep going!
