Swan Lake, Klosjes & Happy Mothers Day

This week has seen me working on Swan Lake.  After seeing Dancing Dollies at the AQC last week, I was inspired to really get into it.  This is one section out of nine.

I have finished appliqueing the stars and most of the hexagons.  There is more to add but at least I have made a start.

Whilst looking through my little pile of hexagons, I discovered that I needed more blue so, off I went to Patchwork on Stonleigh and came home with some more beautiful fat eighths.

This is another pattern I purchased at AQC from the girls at The Quilted Crow.  Have I mentioned this is one of my favourite stalls to visit each year.  They have the most wonderful wool and they are the nicest girls.  It arrived on Friday in the mail and I made a start on it yesterday.

This is another project near completion.  This quilt is a gift and Rose from Pandora Quilting had it ready for me to pick up yesterday.  I now have to attach the binding and will show you a photo of it all laid out when it is finished.  It is a Disappearing 9 Patch.  Can you see the dragonfly quilted in the lower left hand corner?

And last but not least, my Klosjes report for the week or should I say for the fortnight).  I have made 6 more little darlings, bringing my total to 56!

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day.  I hope your family spoils you all with chocolates and no cooking dinner tonight!!

You have been industrious. Swan Lake is looking very nice. Like your hexies.
The felt project makes my fingers itch to get back to my woollen crazy quilt.
6 klosjes is aperfectly acceptable number. Who said we need to do more the spool police?
Have a good day

I had not heard of the Dancing dolly quilt until yesterday when I met Irene Carrig. She was in the shop with her patterns. That is an impressive project looking forward to seeing yours finished. Hope you had a nice mothers day.

Hi Sue-Anne,
I love what I see so far. Those hexagons are divine and the blues are very pretty. I wish our shops would sell more fat 1/8ths. It is such a practical amount. I am glad that there is no such thing as the klosjes police as I have none to show again this week. You will soon overtake me.
Enjoy Mother's Day.
Shirley.

Sue-Anne, your Swan Lake looks SO nice! I love the fabrics you're using. I can't wait to see your Disappearing Nine-Patch quilt, too; the quilting on it looks fantastic! Great job on the klojses, too. I'm resisting the urge to start them!

Have a fantastic Mother's Day!

You have been one busy gal! Such good projects to work on.
How convenient that you had to go to a quilt shop for some blues. A good excuse to get to go play in a favorite spot.
I get confused about people shopping at The Quilted Crow. There is one in the USA and one in your country. At first I wondered why they had a booth that you could go to and then I remembered there is one in Australia by that name.

You have been busy and everything is coming along beautifully. I stopped in at the Quilted Crow to say hello and ran out of time to go back and have a good look at their display. Maybe next year or a trip to Tasmania! I notice you bought the Floral Beauty pattern. I saw one at the Essendon Quilters' exhibition and it is the last picture on my blog on the post for 16/4. It is a beautiful quilt and something I hope to do in the future.

You are off to a great start with your Swan Lake. Cute wool project and pretty Klosjes! I didn't make any this week. :( But, I did get some prepped on Saturday. I'm loving the dragonfly quilting and can't wait to see more of that one.

Beautiful soft colours you used for the klosjes. I also like your other projects. There is a lot of them! The blue fabrics are great for the hexagons. It is a very good idea to applique the hexagons maybe for my hexagons to. I don't know what this other flowery pattern is you used. Is it from a book maybe?
