It's Finished

This is the finished "Quilt-a-Long" doll quilt called Cheddar Cheese & Crackers that Lori from Humble Quilts ran on her blog.  I thought I would have finished it a lot earlier but boy, there is a lot of sewing, not hard, just have to concentrate with the fabric placement.  I am really pleased how it has turned out and look forward to hand quilting it in my favourite Sulky thread.  Thanks Lori for sharing.

Tonight I will be stitching yo yo's as I have run out of prepared applique to do.  First thing tomorrow I will be making more mess in the sewing room with fabrics pulled out everywhere finding just the right pieces for the next part of Me & My Shadow.

And it looks great. All that concentration's paid off with the fabric placement.

Well done. Regards,

Sue

Very nice!!! The black and red is very striking!!!! Way to go!
I started hand quilting mine last night. I'm slow but am hoping to get it done this week.

That is a very cool quilt! I really love the grey. It seems like you hardly ever see grey as a focus fabric. I can see why you would have to pay close attention to get the layout just right. How big is the quilt overall and what are the dimensions of the small squares?

Happy quilting,
Susan

Your quilt is gorgeous! I thought this was one of the most difficult quilts I have done...due to the color placement. I made a couple mistakes...and left them, because I think that is what a pioneer woman would have done! Yours is perfect!

I love how you changed out the cheddar for the black. It gives it a very diffrent look :)

I love your doll quilt - the colors are very stiking! It will be wonderful quilted by hand. I've never tried Sulky thread for hand quilting - what is it about it that makes it your favorite?

Oh wow, what contrast! Your quilt surprised me! It looks great! It does take concentration, but good results in the end!

Wow, I love this! I didn't participate because I'm not a fan of the cheddar yellow. I guess I just can't think outside the box. This is a winner for sure.
